Fun facts about Chevrolet Electric Vehicles

Chevrolet is one of America’s best-selling vehicle brands. And it has been producing cars since 1911. That makes Chevrolet as old as 111 years. Chevrolet is one of the most iconic brands ever known.

The story of Chevrolet is one of persistence and hard work. When Louis Chevrolet, a race car driver, and General motors Founder Willaim C. Durant held hands in creating a car company, their first car was not the roaring success you would expect.

The first car, the Series C Classic Six, took to market featuring electric headlamps and an electric starter which was quite an invention at the time. But this lost the battle to other available cars like the Model T Ford. Yet, the Chevrolet company did not give up. William Durant refused to be undaunted. He continued to produce cars that were daring, innovative, and risky until many years later, Chevrolet became the name it is today.

A sports car created by Chevrolet called the ‘Corvette’ in 1963 won the world’s biggest racing events eight times. And note that other contestants included Ferrari and Porsche cars. So this made Chevrolet one of the most iconic sports cars ever.

Did you also know that Chevrolet was the first company to offer built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi in its vehicles? Then many competing companies followed suit. The Chevrolet company is known always to offer the best price for their vehicles. They were able to do this by using ingenuous methods to cut down on their costs.

Did you also know that Chevrolet made the very first SUV? Yes! And who doesn’t love SUVs? In 1933, Chevrolet made the first SUV, the ‘Chevrolet Suburban Carryall.’ The Suburban Carryall still exists today, but in an improved form combining technology and comfort.

There are many theories about how the famous Chevrolet ‘bowtie’ logo came into being, but none of them are confirmed. No matter where it came from, the icon is now a unique brand.

In modern times, Chevrolet significantly improved its small and medium-sized car models and introduced its Volt plug-in hybrid. The Volt has a 40-mile range of electric power. The Chevrolet today boasts an impressive line-up of cars, trucks, SUVs, and electric vehicles. Despite all the competition in the car market, Chevrolet remains a strong player due to its affordable rates and innovative style.

Why choose an electric Chevrolet?

Electric cars are pricey when compared to gasoline-powered cars. Yes, it does save you a lot of money otherwise spent on gas, but electric vehicles have many hidden costs that would burn a hole in your pocket. Please read this article on the truth about electric vehicles and an article about the cost of charging electric vehicles. But despite the many downsides of EVs, American consumers are trending more and more towards electric vehicles. There could only be one big answer.

Most Americans who choose electric vehicles over gas-powered ones are taking a big step toward preserving the world’s delicate ecosystem. They wish to leave a clean carbon footprint and make smart changes that will enable a better future for generations. If you are one of these wise consumers, read on for a list of the best Chevrolet electric cars.

The best Chevrolet electric vehicles.

I have selected some of the best Chevrolet electric cars as rated by some best car rating companies like Edmunds. Here are some of the best EVs and what makes them so awesome.

Chevrolet Bolt EV

Chevrolet Bolt EV was one of the first electric vehicles. It is a small all-electric hatchback that’s very popular on the road. It scores a high rating of 8.0 out of ten at Edmunds due to its efficiency, spacious interior, and ease of use. The Bolt is priced at $31,000-$34,200, making it an electric vehicle that is reasonable and worth the price.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV has many exciting features, like wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Its efficiency range is about 259-278 miles on full power. It can charge at level 2 EVSE at 240V and has an onboard charger capacity of 11kW.

Most of the car’s technology features are standard. But it makes up for the lack of technology in its agility and nimbleness. The Bolt EV being a small car, is quite spacious in its interior. The car also comes with a good warranty package.

Chevrolet Bolt EV

This is another Chevrolet electric vehicle that has earned a good 8.0 out of ten rating from Edmunds. This is an SUV that costs $27,200-$31,700.

This 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV is a small-sized cross-over SUV that is an improved, larger version of the Bolt EV hatchback I spoke of earlier. Its driving range is 247 miles-265 miles on a single charge.

Its braking and handling are smooth but aren’t as light and nimble as the Bolt EV. The EV’s technology includes Apple Carplay and Android Auto smartphone integration and in-car navigation. A downside is that it charges pretty slowly at a rate of 55kW at max DC fast charging. So that makes this vehicle more suitable for short journeys and not long road trips.

This EUV, too, has a good warranty and is worth the price if you are looking for a compact, comfortable vehicle for short commutes.

Chevrolet electric vehicles are worth buying.

There are many more Chevrolet electric vehicles in the market, but I have only quoted the ones that seem to be the best value for money. Chevrolet vehicles include a whole range of SUVs, trucks, compact cars, and vans. Many vehicles are also scheduled for releases in 2023, like the Chevrolet Equinox SUV and the Chevrolet Blazer EV.

Most Chevrolet electric vehicles are not luxurious or flashy like the other smart electric cars in the market. But its affordable prices make it accessible to all kinds of people. And more importantly, it is efficient and straightforward. If you are on a limited budget, then Chevrolet electric vehicles could be your ideal choice.
